Photographs from a recent visit to the beautiful but economically challenged area of South East Texas. These photos represent 10 days that began with the assassination attempt of Donald Trump, and ended with Biden standing down as the Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.

Ten days of visiting family, and of documenting the visible decay that has occurred since my first visit in 2002. The growth of online shopping in the last 20 years, mixed with global economic downturn has left malls full of vacant stores, and empty shops and restaurants scattered around the small towns along the border of Texas and Louisiana.

I hasten to add that there are also many amazing new restaurants and micro breweries popping up, with a vibrant younger crowd showing that the area is in flux, and not absolute decay.
